Katie Ledecky gets the gold in the 1,500m free at the Paris Olympics; she does it to an Olympic record time of 15:30.02. This also enhances her impressive medal haul of 12 Olympic medals making her the greatest female swimmer ever.
Ledecky's ascent to the pinnacle of Olympic success started in 2012 at the London Olympics where she clinched gold in the 800m freestyle event.
